Request Spring 2025 Software by Dec. 20

Teaching in an FSE classroom, lab, or using Apporto this Spring? Remember, software is not automatically installed—even if you’ve used it in the past. Submit your requests, including version numbers, by 5 PM, Friday, December 20, 2024, to ensure everything is ready for the first day of classes.

  1. Classroom/lab requests: Classroom Support (FSE).
  2. Apporto-specific requests: Cloud Classroom Support.

Requests submitted after the deadline may result in delays.

Explore Grad App for Admissions

The FSE Grad App Filter web application is a powerful resource for faculty and staff involved in graduate recruitment and enrollment. This portal allows authorized users to review data fields associated with incoming applications along with the ability to filter and rate applications based on user-selected criteria such as GPAs and test scores.  Features include the standardization of GPAs across various grading systems to meet ASU standards. It’s particularly useful for identifying top candidates, including standout PhD applicants.

Interested in accessing Grad App? Submit a request through ServiceNow and select “Other” as the Application Type on the form.

Stay Safe from Phishing Emails

Recent phishing attempts have targeted ASU users, asking them to “confirm” their email through suspicious links. Avoid falling for these scams:

  • Ensure emails come from @asu.edu addresses.
  • Hover over links to verify their legitimacy.
  • Forward suspicious emails to [email protected].

For more guidance, visit GetProtected.asu.edu or review ASU’s Information Security Training.

Choose the Best Storage with ASU’s Tool

Not sure where to store your files? ASU’s Storage Selector Tool helps you identify the best storage solution for your data needs. Whether you’re managing research data, collaborating on team projects, or handling sensitive information, this tool provides clear recommendations to ensure your files are secure, accessible, and compliant with ASU policies. Explore options tailored to your work and keep your data protected.

Get Ready for Windows 11

Microsoft’s Windows 10 will reach end-of-support on October 14, 2025. After this date, devices running Windows 10 will no longer meet ASU’s security standards and will be removed from the network.

If you haven’t already transitioned to Windows 11, now is the time to start planning. Your IT manager will provide detailed reports and guidance to ensure a smooth transition. For more information, check out our FAQ or contact your IT manager with any questions.

Workday to Replace TAS Soon

FSE’s time management system, TAS, will be retired as ASU transitions to Workday HCM. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Dec. 13, 2024: Last day to submit time worked or time-off requests in TAS (or Workday).
  • Dec. 17, 2024: Last day for managers to approve all time worked and time-off requests.

Notifications about the transition will appear in the TAS web app to keep users informed. For more details, visit the ASU Workday Information page or email the HCM project team at [email protected].
