PowerGrader

PowerGrader

PowerGrader is an AI-assisted grading tool supported by ETS and available within Canvas for eligible FSE instructors. It is designed to help faculty grade text-based assignments more efficiently while maintaining instructor control over final grades and feedback.

Instructors create assignments and rubrics directly in Canvas as usual. When PowerGrader is launched from within Canvas, it uses the existing rubric to generate draft grades and feedback for student submissions. Instructors can review, edit, accept, or override any AI-generated content before publishing results back to Canvas.

PowerGrader supports a wide range of text-based assignments, including essays, short-answer responses, and programming-related submissions, and can help reduce the time spent on repetitive grading tasks without changing existing workflows.
