What is Jabber?

ASU One Number is furthering the evolution of voice communication services for the new American university. The adoption of One Number is enabling flexibility and accessibility to our ever changing communication needs. In utilizing this service, your office number rings through to your laptop, or cell phone without having to use your personal cell phone number for ASU business.


Where to download Jabber?


Important Steps


Setup on IOS
  • Open up the app store
  • Search for Cisco Jabber
  • Download/Install it
  • Open it up
  • Login with your ASURITE
  • You will now have access to your ASU One phone number
Setup on Android
  • Open up the google play store
  • Search for Cisco Jabber
  • Download/Install it
  • Open it up
  • Login with your ASURITE
  • You will now have access to your ASU One phone number
Setup on Desktop
  • First you want to make sure your computer is connected to the internet
  • Next you are going to want to visit the MyApps at https://myapps.asu.edu/
  • You are going to want to type Cisco Jabber in the search box
  • Next you will see the program in the list
  • You are going to want to click on it then select the Download button
  •  If you have a windows computer you want to click Download next to Windows. If you have a Mac you are going to want to click Download from Mac
Connecting to Teams
  • First you want to open up teams
  • Next you are going to search for the Jabber addon in teams
  • You can right-click it to Pin, so that it stays in your App Bar on the left.
  • You can now use the Jabber app within Teams to dial any number, create your own Speed Dials, etc. You can right-click it to ‘Pop’ it into a separate window as well
Change Voicemail Settings
Student Worker Access
  • First you subscribe to the ASU One www.asu.edu/selfsub
  • Next you are going to want to download and install Jabber
  • Once installed you are going to want to login
  • You can now use the Jabber app within Teams to dial any number, create your own Speed Dials, etc. You can right-click it to ‘Pop’ it into a separate window as well
  • Login with your ASURITE
  • You will now have access to your ASU One phone number
