Engineering Technical Services (ETS) is collaborating with the Information Technology program at The Polytechnic School to provide an IT Internship Program for students enrolled in the B.S. Information Technology major. This new program will provide qualified students the opportunity to gain real-world IT work experience while also earning Academic Credit.

ETS provides IT infrastructure support and services to all six Schools within the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.   ETS IT services include Linux and Windows Server Administration; a VMWare Server-On-Demand Virtualization environment; OS, Application, Patching, and Configuration management via System Center, Casper, and Satellite for Windows, Macs, and Linux desktops and laptops; SQL Enterprise Database services; ColdFusion-based web applications; Business Analysis; Datacenter services for researchers; Classroom Services maintaining over 30 labs; and much more.

As part of the paid Internship program, Interns will work 15 hours a week with ETS Staff on multiple tasks and projects through the course of the semester gaining valuable experience.    These tasks are designed to provide further insight for the B.S. Information Technology major’s core Areas of Focus: Networking and Security, Databases, and Enterprise Computing.  Throughout, the Interns will also be maintaining a Digital Portfolio to track their work, and then publish and use as part of their portfolio of work for future opportunities.

Students interested in the program can apply at ( Students interested in applying for the ETS Internship Program must be enrolled in the B.S. in Information Technology program at TPS (, be a Sophomore or above in good academic standing and have completed IFT 201 and SER 101/CSE 110 (or equivalent) with a grade of C or better. Letter(s) of recommendation are strongly encouraged. Applications will be accepted through August 15th with notifications of acceptance sent by e-mail no later than August 22nd.
